Timothy Brom is the Technical Director, Senior Security Researcher for Embedded Systems at GRIMM specializing in automotive, aerospace and military cybersecurity research. Tim has over ten years experience as a software developer and security researcher with a focus on automotive, aerospace, critical infrastructure and industrial control systems. Additionally, Tim has contributed extensively to the development of CanCat, GRIMM’s open source CAN bus reverse-engineering tool, and CANT, a tool for interacting with CAN bus at the electrical layer. Tim was the lead engineer in the development of GRIMM’s car-hacking workbenches and is recognized subject matter technical expert. Tim is a highly sought, public speaker and has published articles and papers about automotive cybersecurity, car-hacking tools and techniques, including Macchina M2.
